Who are we looking for through the program Visa’s Everywhere Initiative? All entrepreneurs and developers from Fintech startups as well as IoT, Mobile, Big Data, eCommerce, Fraud and Digital Identity, and other segments or verticals with solutions applicable to financial services are welcome to join us!

Moreover, Fabrice Serfati, Managing Director of Ignia, one of the most important venture capital funds in the region, will share his insights about the latest Fintech developments and trends in the region. The evening will end up with a networking session where you will have the opportunity to get in touch with the Fintech community.

Demetrio Strimpopulos (Director, BanregioLabs)
As an innovation strategist, Demetrio leads BanregioLABS, an experimental laboratory to identify and capitalize on new growth opportunities. BanregioLABS focuses in developing better customer experiences based on financial technology and new ways to delight and attract customers to the bank. Additionally BanregioLABS has an actively role in the fintech community to develop strong relations with startups which are trying to connect with the mexican financial system. Demetrio has had the privilege of working in diverse banking areas over the past 25 years, including IT, commercial, new channels, product design, and currently Innovation.
Fabrice Serfati | Managing Director, Ignia
Fabrice joined IGNIA in 2008 as General Partner and founder of IGNIA Shared Services. He is Managing Director since 2012. Fabrice comes to IGNIA from a successful career in strategy and finance. Prior to IGNIA he was Corporate Vice President of ONEO/Grupo Domos, a conglomerate of environmental services, real estate and IT. Prior to joining Grupo Domos he was Corporate Finance Vice President of Vitro, one of the largest glass manufacturers in the world, where he managed over US$1.5 billion loan portfolio and was responsible for the structuring of all credit and equity issuance transactions. Fabrice started his professional carreer in Banco Santander where he held several positions in Mexico and New York. Fabrice serves as independent Board Member of RCO (Red Carreteras de Occidente), Fondo Angular (real estate investment fund). He is passionate about entrepreneurship and gender equal opportunities, and is a Fellow at Victoria 147 (business incubator for women entrepreneurship) as well as serves on the Board of CORDEM (NGO that empowers women through education). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Instituto Técnologico Autónomo de México (ITAM).
Visa’s Everywhere Initiative LAC 2018
The 2018 edition of the global innovation program will bring together early-stage startups across Latin America and the Caribbean to explore solutions to solve the commerce challenges of tomorrow. Startups in Latin America are leveraging technologies to develop innovative businesses that can potentially enhance financial services and transform payments and commerce in the region. Visa’s Everywhere Initiative is looking for Fintech startups, as well as other tech-driven startups in verticals or segments such as IoT, Mobile, Big Data, eCommerce, Fraud and Digital Identity, across Latin America and the Caribbean to engage in one of the most dynamic and collaborative innovation programs worldwide.
Visa’s Everywhere Initiative will travel across Latin America looking for the 12 most innovative Fintech startups capable of meeting the needs of the local market. Startups will participate in the semifinals, which will be held in Mexico City, Bogota, Lima, Santiago, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires. Each semi-final will have 6 participating Fintech startups, and the 2 best startups from each semifinal will participate in a 4-day immersion program and will pitch their projects in the final, which will take place at FINNOSUMMIT in Miami on October 4th and 5th, 2018. The most innovative Fintech startup in Latin America will be selected at the final, winning a US$50,000 award, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with Visa on the future of payments, gain exposure to venture capitalists and Visa’s ecosystem of partners.
Moreover, a special recognition will be given to the best startup with the highest potential to have an impact on financial inclusion in the region. Who will also be invited to participate in the 4-day Immersion Program at Miami and at FINNOSUMMIT Miami.
