Visa’s Everywhere Initiative Mexico City Meetup | May 8th, 2018

Calling all Fintech and tech entrepreneurs, investors, and anyone interested in the future of finance and payments.

The new edition of Visa’s Everywhere Initiative 2018 is here, the global innovation program that aims to identify the best technological startup in Latin America and the Caribbean, to explore solutions to solve the commerce challenges of tomorrow in collaboration with Visa. Who are we looking for through the program Visa’s Everywhere Initiative? All entrepreneurs and developers from Fintech startups as well as IoT, Mobile, Big Data, eCommerce, Fraud and Digital Identity, and other segments or verticals with solutions applicable to financial services are welcome to join us!

You still aren’t sure if your startup fits with the program? Don’t worry, come to our meetup in Mexico City and discover all the details about the program and how to apply; meet Visa’s and Finnovista’s team members, as well as entrepreneurs from past editions; and engage in interesting discussions with entrepreneurs and key players from the Fintech ecosystem.

What can I expect from  Visa’s Everywhere Initiative Meetup Mexico City?

During the meetup, Visa and Finnovista teams will explain all the details concerning Visa’s Everywhere Initiative program in Latin America and the Caribbean. Moreover, Vicente Fenoll, CEO of Kubo.Financiero the most important P2P Lending Platform in Mexico, will share his insights about the latest Fintech developments and trends in the region in a keynote. Lastly, Tere Carmona (CEO, Uniko) and Mijael Feldman (CEO and Co-founder, Ubank), participants of the first edition of Visa’s Everywhere Initiative in 2017 will participate in an interview where he will share his experience in the program. The evening will end up with a networking session where you will have the opportunity to get in touch with the Fintech community.

Vicente Fenoll | CEO kubo.financiero

Vicente is Public Accountant from the ITAM and holds an MBA from IPADE, as well as a Master in Executive Coaching from IESE. In 2012 he began a new entrepreneurial project and founded kubo.financiero, a digital platform with social impact that aims to build a financial community throughout a P2P lending model. In 1994 he founded FinComún, where he remained CEO until 2010. Meanwhile he is Co-founder of ProDesarrollo (1999) and AMSOFIPO (2009). Vicente has been Board Member of several organisations: Buro de Crédito, Banco del Ahorro Nacional y Servicios Financieros (Bansefi), Fundación Juan Diego, ProDesarrollo Finanzas y Microempresa, Centro Mexicano para la Filantropía (Cemefi). He is also member of several entrepreneurial networks: he was named Endeavor Entrepreneur (2004) and actively participates as mentor. He was also selected in the second generation of Wayra Entrepreneurs (2012) and entrepreneur of High Social Impact by Ashoka (2014). He participates in entrepreneurial networks such as Posible.mx, Unreasonable Mexico.

Visa’s Everywhere Initiative LAC 2018

The 2018 edition of the global innovation program will bring together early-stage startups across Latin America and the Caribbean to explore solutions to solve the commerce challenges of tomorrow. Startups in Latin America are leveraging technologies to develop innovative businesses that can potentially enhance financial services and transform payments and commerce in the region. Visa’s Everywhere Initiative is looking for Fintech startups, as well as other tech-driven startups in verticals or segments such as IoT, Mobile, Big Data, eCommerce, Fraud and Digital Identity, across Latin America and the Caribbean to engage in one of the most dynamic and collaborative innovation programs worldwide.

Visa’s Everywhere Initiative will travel across  Latin America looking for the 12 most innovative Fintech startups capable of meeting the needs of the local market.  Startups will participate in the semifinals, which will be held in Mexico City, Bogota, Lima, Santiago, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires. Each semi-final will have 6 participating Fintech startups, and the 2 best startups from each semifinal will participate in a 4-day immersion program and will pitch their projects in the final, which will take place at FINNOSUMMIT in Miami on October 4th and 5th, 2018. The most innovative Fintech startup in Latin America will be selected at the final, winning a US$50,000 award, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with Visa on the future of payments, gain exposure to venture capitalists and Visa’s ecosystem of partners.

Moreover, a special recognition will be given to the best startup with the highest potential to have an impact on financial inclusion in the region. Who will also be invited to participate in the 4-day Immersion Program at Miami and at FINNOSUMMIT Miami.
