Given this context and with the growth of these startups in the region in the last decade, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Finnovista carried out during 2016 and 2017 the largest collection of information on the state of the Fintech industry in Latin America and the Caribbean. The result of this research, which also included the implementation of a survey of Fintech companies from 18 countries, was published in 2017 in the report “Fintech: innovations you did not know were from Latin America and the Caribbean.”
